About
This design was first produced as wallpaper in 1893. This kit provides you with an opportunity to engage with the artwork in a new way. Recreating the design in stitch adds depth and texture.
Voysey was an English architect and furniture and textile designer. His early work involved designing wallpapers, furnishings and fabrics in an Arts and Crafts style. The Arts and Crafts movement attempted to reform design and decoration in mid-19th century Britain as a reaction against machine and factory production, which was felt to have reduced decorative and fine arts.
The V&A, London is the largest museum of art and design, and houses over 2.3 million objects. The museum stores many of the UK’s national collections and some of the best resources for the study of architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art and design, theatre and performance.
