Describe Your Style in Three Words?

Nature, Thread, Sculptures

How Long Have You Been Stitching For?

I’ve been stitching since 2017 and full time as a job since 2021.

What’s Your Favourite Stitch?

My favourite stitch for texture is a French Knot but then my favourite for its effect is a Bullion Knot!

How Did You Learn to Stitch?

I picked up stitching as a hobby, teaching myself with videos and online tutorials. Since then it has been a constant cycle of learning through making and developing my own style!

What Are Your Embroidery Essentials?

My embroidery essentials are a really good quality pair of sharp scissors, voile fabric to use as the base for all my 3D creations and of course DMC thread.

What Inspires You?

The natural world has always been my biggest source of inspiration. My studio is based in the Wiltshire countryside so I am surrounded by long woodland walks and open fields, it’s heaven for finding plants, fungi, and flowers to stitch.

What’s Your Favourite Piece of Work?

It’s hard to say which of my pieces is my favourite as they’ve all taught me something different but my first 3D Fly Agaric piece will always be very special to me.

What Difference Has Stitching Made To Your Life?

Stitching has made a huge difference to my life, not only because it has become my career but also because it has taught me mindfulness and how to enjoy the process of creating something as much as the final result. The subject of my work has also taught me to look a little closer when I’m outside, to notice the things I didn’t before and to truly appreciate my surroundings.
