About

The Goldfish is an oil on canvas still-life painting by Henri Matisse. It is part of a series he produced between the spring and early summer of 1912. The canvas is vibrant, with strong colours and an original composition that draws the viewer’s eye into the heart of the painting.

This kit includes everything you need to recreate Matisse’s work in stitch: Mouliné Spécial threads on an organiser, 14-count white Aida fabric, a needle and easy-to-follow instructions.

Henri Matisse was a French artist of the early 20th century, known for his vibrant use of colour, distinctive draughtsmanship and his role as a leading figure in the Fauvist movement.
